Expert judgement on the main F1 events

The problems of the ferrari

Let’s talk about which team, Red Bull or Ferrari, takes more initiative within the championship. According to experts, the RB’s safety cars perform better with rubber. Due to this, even on “cold” tyres the racing cars of this team go faster. Even if Ferrari drivers are leading by one lap of the race, they are still overtaken by Red Bull, as they change tyres much less frequently. Ferrari’s safety cars make kit changes far more often than they slow down the race.

I wonder if Lecler had a chance to behave differently after the restart. The answer to that question is unequivocal: “of course not”. He couldn’t rely on the capabilities and manoeuvrability of his car, as in his case there was no way to get any closer.

How do you feel about the critical comments of Hamilton to Mercedes, which offered to make their own decision about the pit stop. Do you think Lewis’ behaviour is justified? Experts unanimously agree that this behaviour of the driver is not very correct. Why? Because he often allows himself to be critical of the decisions of the team during the race. This is the reason why the management has given the pilot the opportunity to make a personal choice.

Who do you think is to blame for the accidents on the track: Schumacher vs. Vettel and Gasly vs. Alonso?

In the collision with Gasly, Alonso is to blame, as well as the accident involving Lewis at the start of the race. He just failed miserably to squeeze inside the flow. They were unable to align their cars, and leveled off at the back wheel, all at the wrong last moment. The driver who is in the front position cannot react in time to the situation, in which one finds himself inside the flow.

The accident involving Vettel and Schumacher was Sebastian’s fault. Because he saw Mick in his rear-view mirrors a long time ago, he did not drive into his rear wheel. We have been able to establish from the radio conversations that Sebastian thinks he was at fault and says he didn’t see Mick.

Ferrari: who is to blame for the accidents in miami

Who do you think is the best driver of the race and why?

Everyone has an opinion about it, but I think nobody will be against Verstappen’s persona. Why? Because it was possible to see the well-coordinated work in all stages of the race. Thanks to the safety car, Russell could have been the best, too. Accidents involving other riders played into Albon’s hands.

Do you like the new track? Do you think it could be a jewel of F1. What circuit is it more like? Some may say that Miami circuit is very similar to Sochi circuit. Of course, this is not quite right, as the slow part is completely different and more like the same section in Baku. This section of the track is too narrow. It is not quite clear why they make such a narrow slow part. The exit to the long straight is also very narrow. It’s just unreal to drive in a straight line and to counterattack from there, even antifenders are not always helpful in such a situation.

Do you think the complaints of the drivers about the absence of the TecPro barrier in the turn 14 of the circuit are justified, or not? Of course they are. Because there is a painful bump on the concrete. And here we are talking not only about budget expenditures for repair of cars, but also the health of the pilot after such a blow.

About disputes of Hamilton and FIA about decorations it is possible to tell only one thing – they are useless and silly.  There is no basis for any claims in relation to the drivers’ underwear.
